I love this reading, especially the Runes, which I really want to engage with myself... even more so after reading this!
I loved this, too, "The Melancholy of Alexander,’ referring to the restlessness of Alexander the Great, who won great lands but was never satisfied." which was new to me for 2W... thank you! 🙏🏼
Thank you, Phil for reading and taking the time to comment. Am already a subscriber of yours. The runes are primal, visceral, I favour them for intentional work, though I had an extraordinary experience once with the Ace of Cups, with a very happy outcome. Ultimate grace. Tarot cards were my first study. I used to work in museums, took one look at a deck and thought, oh, art and stories! Got to find out more. There is no specific rune for the Moon, I have always found that curious. But the concept are covered, particularly by Laguz, the Lake, the water rune and Berkana, the Birch, which also signifies female cycles.
I love the idea of your discovering Tarot in your library job... I always imagined working in a library would be a really fascinating thing to do... was this where you discovered Runes, too?
Runes was from reading, stories of the Norse gods, Phil, and then I got to know a friend who worked with runes, and I was fascinated with the etymology for one thing, and how the runes are still aso very much live and kicking in modern English. Fehu/Fee, Ansuz/Answer, Jera/Year Dagaz/Day -and the rest!
I am halfway through Neil Gaiman's book on Norse Mythology at the moment, and loving it... I read somewhere that understanding the Norse figures was the key to beginning your studies... I have three books, which I started, but then went to the Gaiman before going back to them.
Hi there Wildflower. One has any amount of sets of runes to choose from on online, Ebay, Etsy, Wildflower. There are shops who sell that kind of thing. I use runes made of stone, gemstones or wood, natural materials. Inexpensive to get a set, and the carved ones last better than ones with the runes painted on them. Be aware there are 3 types of runes. I use the old Norse runes, the Elder Futhark. But there is another set of Anglo Saxon runes called the Younger Futhark, and then there are Witches runes. The runes in my post are quite heavy, and made of haematite.
The runes look beautiful- how does one come by them exactly- any particular recommendation for a total newbie?

Ooh, l have never used runes 😊, how interesting. Thank you 🙏 😊
More primal, Simone, or so I have found them, as compared with working with the cards. And thank you! : )
